<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a target classification from a range profile showing the range-to-RCS characteristic of a target and track information by use of a realizable frequency band in a radar device. SOLUTION: When an operator judges the necessity of classification, for example, a radar signal processing part 5 outputs a classification request signal to a wide band modulation signal generation part 10 and a switching part 2. In the wide band modulation signal generation part 10, a radio wave of wide band necessary for higher range resolution is supplied to a radar transmission part 9 to output it from an antenna 1. The switching part 2 switches the connection to a wide band receiving system for performing classification processing. The wide band receiving signal received by the antenna 1 is amplified and detected by a wide band receiving part 4, and enhanced in range-directional resolution by high pulse compression by a wide band signal processing part 6 to calculate the range profile showing the range-to-RCS characteristic of the target. In a target classification device 7, target classification processing is performed from the stable range profile and the tracking information of the target by use of a means for reducing the fluctuation of the range profile.</p> |
