PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform display with high quality by restricting hindrance such as deterioration in image quality in a data broadcasting. SOLUTION: A video signal separated from a reception signal by a demultiplexer 5 is outputted to a converting part 8 via an MPEG decoder part 6. When the video signal is for the data broadcasting and has a 480I signal format, a CPU 7 controls the converting part 8 to scale the video signal in size and also convert it into the one with a 480p signal format. A data processing part 11 generates the video signal with the 480p signal format such as a corresponding character or a graphic based on a data signal by the control of the CPU 7. A synthesizing part 10 synthesizes the two video signals processed by the converting part 8 and the data processing part 11 and they are inputted to a D/A converting part 13. The D/A converting part 13 converts the inputted video signals into analog signals and outputs them to a display device 3.
