<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the selection operation of menu items, in a compact information terminal apparatus, such as cellular phones. SOLUTION: A selection screen P1 including items 1 to 8 is displayed on the display screen of a display as menu items. A cursor CS is moved for each one item in the downward or upward direction, according to the operation of lower-or upper-arrow button, and at the same time, the cursor CS is moved to an item which is a specific number (for example, 2) ahead in the downward or upward direction according to a right-or left arrow button. A user presses a selection button, while the cursor CS is showing a desired item. An item shown by the cursor CS is selected, by responding to the operation of the selection button. As a jump button, other buttons are diverted, instead of the right-or left-arrow button, or an exclusive button may be added.</p> |
