PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical engine for an outboard motor for increasing crankshaft support rigidity, rationally arranging an oil pump, and surely supplying lubricating oil in a V-type engine. SOLUTION: The vertical engine for an outboard motor is a four-cycle vertical engine assembled to the outboard motor. A cylinder block 14 is mounted on a mounting member 21 attached to a hull, an oil pan 22 is disposed to a lower part of the mounting member 21, and the oil pump 43 is disposed at a lower end of a crankshaft 12. The crankshaft 12 is rotatably supported by a bearing half part 20 on a side of the cylinder block 14, and bearing half parts 24, 25 joined with the bearing half part 20. A bridge part 29 is disposed to the intermediate bearing half part 25, and an oil passage 50 from the oil pump 43 is disposed on a side of the bearing half part 25 having the bridge part 29. |
