METHOD FOR REDUCING LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT COMPONENTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent processing method to reduce low molecular weight components when recycling a molded article with an increased amount of low molecular weight components newly generated by thermal decomposition during injection molding or foaming molding of a styrene resin for use as a food packaging material. SOLUTION: A styrene resin or a foamed molded article therefrom is dissolved into a solvent, and then a resin phase precipitated by lowering of temperature is separated and recovered from the solvent phase in which low molecular weight components are dispersed.
