PURPOSE: An illuminating system using microwave is provided to achieve an in-advance prevention against damage of components by easily discharging the high temperature heat generated by the excitation of the material encapsulated in the electric bulb. CONSTITUTION: An illuminating system comprises an electric bulb(5) encapsulated with a material excited by the microwave generated from a magnetron(2) so as to emit light; a resonator(6) for accommodating the electric bulb, and which allows the light emitted from the electric bulb to exit but is opaque to microwave radiation; a reflector mirror(7) for accommodating the resonator, and which reflects the light emitted from the electric bulb; and a cooling unit arranged within the reflector mirror, and which compulsorily cools interior of the reflector mirror. The cooling unit includes two or more air holes(7a) formed at the reflector mirror, an air circulation pipe(10) communicated to the air holes, and a heat pipe(20) mounted at the intermediate portion of the air circulation pipe.
