PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operability by detecting an error of direction such as longitudinal and lateral of an inserted document and informing a user of the error. SOLUTION: When a read/write error of magnetic stripes 57a, 57b by a magnetic head 39 of a magnetic stripe read/write part 5 and a detection error of page marks 59a, 59b by a PLD detecting part 7 are simultaneously generated, re-insertion of a passbook in the right direction is promoted by informing the user that the direction such as longitudinal and lateral of the inserted passbook is abnormal. When the detection error of the page marks is generated though the read/write of data to the magnetic stripe is succeeded, the user is informed a fact that the passbook is a type which can not be handled and furthermore, when the page marks are exactly detected though the read/write error of the data to the magnetic stripes is generated, the user is informed of a magnetic abnormality of the magnetic stripes. |
