PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine that eliminates the need for or facilitates the height adjustment of a needle bar and position adjustment of a needle plate with regard to a needle location hole that are required in replacing a needle clamp, and can facilitate the replacement of the needle clamp itself. SOLUTION: A needle bar 20 is hollow and is provided with a screw insertion hole 28a at the lower end. A tapped hole 29 is formed in the radial direction of a positioning member 22 mounted to the lower end of the needle bar 20. An insertion shaft 26 extending parallel with a needle 23 is formed at the upper part of a needle clamp 21. A flat portion is formed on the side of the insertion shaft 26. In mounting the needle clamp 21, the positioning member 22 is mounted to the lower end of the needle bar 20, the insertion shaft of the needle clamp 21 is inserted from the lower end of the needle bar 20, and a needle clamp fixing screw 24 is threadedly attached to the tapped hole 29 of the positioning member 22. The top face 33 of the needle clamp fixing screw 24 butts the flat face 27 of the insertion shaft 26 of the needle clamp 21 and thereby determines the position around the axis of the needle clamp 21.
