PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent stress concentration at a step-shaped diameter-contracted part of a rod body and to improve the designing freedom of gripping part-fitting part, in a reel-attaching part. SOLUTION: This fishing rod having the reel-attaching part is constituted so that the diameter of the prescribed position of the rod body 10 will be contracted based on the tip side region 10A so as to form a step, the diameter of the step-shaped diameter-contracted part 10B will be larger than that at the butt side region 10D thereof, and the fitting part 14K of the gripping part 14 will be fitted on the gripping part 14 at the outside of the butt part region.
