PURPOSE: An apparatus for transmitting data using a voice and a method therefor are provided to transmit the data without adding a specific transmission device by receiving voice data of a voice output unit in a voice receiving unit, converting the voice data into source data in a data converting unit, and using the source data in a system driving unit. CONSTITUTION: A host device(100) has a data storing unit for storing certain source data, a data converting unit for converting the source data into voice data, and a control unit for controlling a voice output unit(108) so that the voice output unit(108) outputs the voice data. A client device(110) has a voice receiving unit(112) for receiving the voice data outputted from the voice output unit(108), a data converting unit for converting the voice data into source data, a data storing unit for storing the source data, and a driving unit for driving a system by the data stored in the data storing unit.
