PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of improving the workability in assembling, reducing the generation of noise, imparting a proper steering auxiliary force, and reducing the cost. SOLUTION: The steering torque transmitted by a steering shaft formed of first shaft 3 and second shaft 4 elastically relatively rotatable around an axis is detected by a torque sensor 1 on the basis of the relative rotation. The steering auxiliary force according to the detected steering torque is generated. At least a part of the inside surface of a bush 25 inserted to the central hold of the second shaft 4 is formed into a tapered face 25b reduced in diameter toward one end of the first shaft 3, and the outside surface of the first shaft 3 has a tapered face 3b following the tapered face 25b of the bush 25. The first shaft 3 is relatively rotatably supported by the bush 25 through the tapered face 25b of the bush 25 and the tapered face 3b of the first shaft 3. |
