PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a winding insulation of a generator winding with steps having high reliability related to overvoltage protection by improving a generator for generating high voltage in such a type that the generator has the generator winding 12, is connected with a circuit network 19 through a generator circuit 10, and has overvoltage protection means 15, 16 and 17 for protection against overvoltage. SOLUTION: At least one generator winding 12 is divided into a plurality of winding partitions 12a, 12b, 12c, and these winding partitions are constituted with steps related to insulation dimension of the winding insulation. The overvoltage protection means have a plurality of overvoltage protecting members 15, 16 and 17, these overvoltage protecting members are respectively attached to the respective winding partitions 12a, 12b and 12c, and their response levels are made to meet requirements in the attached winding partitions. |
