<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and a control device for a thermal head capable of printing with two colors by controlling a thermal history in spite of a simple circuit configuration. SOLUTION: The control device for the thermal head has a first instruction processing function for converting to a power-on instruction at first stage and the same at second stage, a second instruction processing function for converting to a power-on instruction at second stage, a first line buffer 43 for storing the power-on instruction at first stage, and a second line buffer 44 for storing the power-on instruction at second stage, meanwhile having a printing information processing part 40 constituted so as to send the first line buffer 43 and the second line buffer 44 selectively, a printing buffer 52 and a history buffer 53. The control device is equipped with a drive control circuit 50 constituted so as to energize a heating element of a thermal head 10 according to the power-on instruction based on the result of the comparison between the printing buffer 52 and the history buffer 53.</p> |
