PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a shaft coupling for joining an output shaft and an input shaft together to function as a torque limiter as well, and to reduce a gap amount in a joint portion without requiring strict dimension accuracy. SOLUTION: Non-circular portions 60a and 73a are provided to the output shaft 60 of a steering auxiliary motor and the input shaft 73 jointed with the output shaft 60 via the shaft coupling 11. Furthermore, the shaft coupling 11 includes flexible cylindrical portions 11d, wherein when a force exceeding steering auxiliary efforts by the motor is applied to the shaft coupling 11, the flexible cylindrical portions 11d bend in the radial direction, thereby enabling relative rotation to the non-circular portions 60a and 73a. Such a structure allows the shaft coupling 11 to function as a torque limiter means. |
