PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric parking brake controlling method capable of timely outputting a command for stopping an actuator without using a sensor means such as a position sensor, and an axial force sensor, in an electric parking brake. SOLUTION: This electric brake controlling method forwardly and backwardly moves a pad pressing member to conduct braking and releasing braking by driving of an electric motor 44. In the electric brake controlling method, the electric motor 44 is driven to rotate in one direction by operating a braking switch 5. When the pad pressing member is forwardly moved to conduct braking, a current threshold value corresponding to the operation of the braking switch 5 is obtained, and a current of the electric motor 44 exceeds the current threshold value and a specified period has passed, thereby stopping rotations in one direction of the electric motor 44. |
