NONPROTEIN STABILIZER FOR ATTENUATED CHICKENPOX LIVE VIRUS VACCINE

PURPOSE: An attenuated chickenpox live virus vaccine containing a stabilizer which does not contain a protein component such as gelatin, etc. to minimize the possibility of inducing adverse effects in vaccination is provided which is high in manufacturing yield and long-term stability and permits maintenance of a high virus factor. CONSTITUTION: A stabilizer for attenuated chickenpox live virus vaccine contains a phosphoric acid buffer solution of pH 7.2 to 7.6 and 5 to 10%(v/v) of amino acid-mixed concentrated solution, based on the total volume of the stabilizer. The phosphoric acid buffer solution contains 7.5 to 15%(w/v) of sucrose, 0.05 to 0.1%(w/v) of potassium phosphate monobasic and 0.125 to 0.25%(w/v) of potassium phosphate dibasic. The attenuated chickenpox live virus vaccine is prepared by diluted with a nonprotein stabilizer to a concentration of chickenpox virus of 1.0x10¬4 to 2.0x10¬4PFU/ml.
