PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily crushing refractory material after use. SOLUTION: In this method for crushing refractory material after use, the refractory material 1 after use is stored into storing equipment 3 which has an opening 2, is impregnated with water, thereafter, is charged into a container 6 which is heated together with the storing equipment 3, the refractory material 1 after use is ruptured and, thereafter, the crushed refractory material is permitted to fall through the opening 2 which is disposed on the storing equipment 3.
