PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose ester film hardly causing wrinkles, creases or distortion even when the film is made thin and to provide a polarizing plate excellent in the dimensional stability. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is produced by laminating a polarizing film consisting of a polyvinylalcohol film with a protective film consisting of a cellulose ester film. The polarizing plate has such characteristics that the dimensional change rate (a) of the polarizing film by the following definition and the dimensional change rate (b) of the protective film by the following definition satisfy the relation of b/a<=0.20, preferably b/a<=0.05 and that the cellulose film has 20 to 60 μm thickness and >=3,000 MPa elastic modulus. The dimensional change rate (%) is obtained from the dimensions of the film before and after the film is heated at 110 deg.C for 3 hours. |
