PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating and drying method that can obtain a coated surface having no streaks and unevenness without changing an air conditioning environment and to provide equipment therefor. SOLUTION: The coating and drying equipment 14 is provided with a windscreen panel 22 between a coating apparatus and a drying apparatus. The windscreen panel 22 is arranged on a running web 12 so as to prevent air of the air conditioner from blowing on the web 12 from the upper side and so as to control the draft only to the component of the running direction of the web 12. The windscreen panel 22 can adjust the distance to the web according to the running speed of the web 12 and the viscosity of the coating liquid.
