PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain heat radiation from sides and bottom of the body of a portable cookstove. SOLUTION: The sides 2 and the bottom 6 of the body 1 of this portable cookstove have a multi-layer structure in which two stainless steel plates 4, 7 having heat insulating material layers 3, 8 on the opposite surface sides are disposed opposite to each other with air layers 5, 9 interposed between them. Vent holes 4h, 7h communicating with the air layers 5, 9 are formed in the sides of the two steel plates 4, 7 that face to the outside of the body 1. A fuel box 10 is suspended at a distance between the side 2 and the bottom 6 on the opposite upper edges of the body 1, and a groove of a coolant reservoir 13 is provided to be connected to a charcoal throw-in part 12 in a space between the central charcoal throw-in part 12 and both side surfaces 2 of the fuel box 10. In the portable cookstove of this type, heat generated by burning the charcoal C is restrained and transmitted to the outer steel plate 4 of the side 2 and the lower steel plate 7 of the bottom 6, heat transmitted to the air layers 5, 9 is also transferred to the outside of the body 1 through the vent holes 4h, 7h, and heat radiation to the periphery can be restrained by water W as well stored in the coolant reservoir 13 so that the sides 2 and the bottom 6 will not become high temperature.
