PURPOSE: A device for preventing a cassette from being pushed in a magnetic recording/reproducing device is provided to smooth the loading of the tape cassette and obtain a precise securing position of the tape cassette in the loading state, thereby precisely withdrawing the tape. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing a cassette from being pushed in a magnetic recording/reproducing device includes a cassette holder(30) mounted on a deck for securing a tape cassette(20) to convey the tape cassette between loading and unloading positions, a guide boss(35) mounted on the deck for guiding the movement of the cassette holder between the loading and unloading positions, a locking-release protrusion(37) provided at a side of the cassette holder for releasing the locking of a cassette door of the tape cassette in the unloading state, a pushing-preventing protrusion integrally formed with the locking-release protrusion for fixing a position of the tape cassette in the cassette holder by holding a side of the tape cassette, and a cam follower(39) provided at a position corresponding to a front side surface part of the tape cassette in the loading state for driving the locking-release protrusion and the pushing-preventing protrusion simultaneously according to the movement of the cassette holder securing the tape cassette.
