Control method for an AC-AC matrix converter

The invention discloses an improved method for controlling the commutation in a multi-input-phase (1, 2, .. n) to single-output-phase (U) direct AC-AC converter comprising an array of bi-directional static switches (BS1, .. BSn) based upon the knowledge of the output load current sign and of the input phase voltages.
