PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reluctance motor which can be driven at low speed of revolution, without lowering the generated torque and can be driven stably at high speed of revolution. SOLUTION: A main magnetic pole group having a large number of magnetic poles and an auxiliary magnetic pole group having a small number of poles are formed in a soft magnetic material rotor 4, made of soft magnetic material by utilizing gaps 6 or non-magnetic materials. Main windings 2 and auxiliary windings 3, which generate magnetic fields, corresponding respectively to the main magnetic pole group and the auxiliary magnetic pole group, are provided on a stator 1. At a low speed revolution state, currents are applied to the main windings 2 or the main windings 2 and the auxiliary windings 3, and in a high speed revolution state, currents are applied to the auxiliary windings 2, to change pole to drive a motor. |
