PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining method and device by which machining accuracy and efficiency are improved. SOLUTION: An upper part control device 90 is provided which has a lower end in nearly the same contour as that of the support of a lower part holding device 47, and the control device 90 is arranged above a workpiece 1. Then, a distanceδof about 0.05 mm is set between the lower end 70a of the upper guide 70 of the upper part control device 90 and the upper surface 1b of the workpiece 1. It is more effective if the distanceδis made adjustable in a structure.
