PURPOSE: An apparatus for preheating air for combustion of batch annealing furnace is provided to maximize heat transfer efficiency and improve thermal efficiency by preheating air for combustion supplied to a plurality of burners installed on side surface of the batch annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION: In a batch annealing furnace comprising an inner cover for covering coil stacked on base, a furnace covered on the inner cover with being spaced apart from the inner cover in a certain distance, and burners (15) mounted on the side surface of the lower part of the furnace with being spaced apart from each other in a certain distance, the apparatus comprises an air suction means comprising a driving motor (20) installed on one side surface of the furnace, a driving fan connected to rotation shaft of the driving motor, and a suction guide installed at the input side of an outer housing (22) where the driving fan is installed so that the suction guide sucks in air; and a preheating means comprising a distribution pipe (30) which is connected to an air pipe (24) installed at the output side of the housing, and which is installed along the outer circumferential surface of the lower part of the furnace, and a preheating pipe (31) which is separated from the distribution pipe so that the preheating pipe is vertically extended to the upper part of the furnace, and which is bent downward from the upper part of the furnace to the inner side of the furnace so that the preheating pipe is connected to the burners of the lower part of the furnace.
