PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information gathering device capable of instantaneously and comprehensively constructing a data base for which bid information scattered on the Internet is gathered and integrally specialized and providing it for a user, and an information gathering program. SOLUTION: The information gathering device is provided with a site address storage means for storing addresses of information providing sites, a document acquisition means for accessing the addresses stored in the address storage means and acquiring documents stored at the address, a document selection means for selecting the document acquired by the document acquisition means on the basis of a prescribed selection condition, an item/data extraction means for extracting an item and data corresponding to the item on the basis of a prescribed extraction condition for the document selected by the document selection means and a gathered information registration means for registering gathered information including the item and the data extracted by the item/data extraction means to a gathered information data base according to a prescribed form.
