<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein concerned with fertilization, etc., and a nucleic acid and an agent encoding the protein. <P>SOLUTION: This nucleic acid comprises (a) a nucleotide sequence represented by a specific sequence, (b) a sequence corresponding to the sequence (a) within the range of degeneration of a genetic code or (c) a nucleotide sequence hybridizing with the sequence (a) or (b) under stringent conditions and encoding a protein having functions of a human MASTER protein.
