<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the maintainability and to reduce the operational cost of a light emitting flat-panel display such as an organic light emitting diode display by estimating the remaining useful life of the device. <P>SOLUTION: This light emitting flat-panel display 12 is provided with a light emitting diode 14, a sensors 24 for sensing the light output of the light emitting diodes, a display controller 18 for calculating the estimated value of the remaining useful life of the display responsive to the light output signal and a storage device 20 for storing estimated values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
