<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the scrolling operation by optionally connecting an extended pad which has a wheel part for scrolling operation on a pad-type pointing device included in a laptop personal computer. <P>SOLUTION: A personal computer 1 is laptop and is provided with a pad 2, which is a built-in pointing device, on the side of a keyboard 7, the pad operation surface 21 of the pad 2, and an expansion pad 3 which is connected with the pad 2 so as to be added optionally. The expansion pad 3 prepares a wheel part for scrolling operation 4 which has same operability and function as that of the wheel of a mouse with wheel.
