PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably float and separate various types of sheets such as specified sheets like cardboards, thin paper sheets, and plain paper sheets without enlarging the device. SOLUTION: This sheet feeder is provided with a sheet stack means 1 stacking the sheets S, a sheet delivery means delivering a bundle of the sheets S stacked on the sheet stack means 1 from an uppermost sheet S in order, an outlet 4 opened facing to the side of the bundle of the stacked sheets S, and an air assist device 3 floating and separating the sheet S by blowing air toward the side of the bundle of the sheets S from the outlet 4.
