DEVICE FOR HELPING TO REGENERATE CATALYST TYPE PARTICULATE FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for helping to regenerated a filter which increases the regeneration speed of the catalysed particulate filter.

SOLUTION: This device is disposed in an exhaust line of a diesel engine (1) of a vehicle, and helps to regenerate the catalysed particulate filter (4) located on the downstream side of an oxide catalyst (3) on the emission side of the engine. The exhaust line includes a gas bypass circuit located in parallel with terminals of the oxide catalyst (3), and has a control means (6) to successively control distribution of the gas inside the catalyst type particulate filter and in the catalyst at the time of starting regeneration of the particulate filter (4) to direct the part of the oxide catalyst gas with sufficient unburnt hydrocarbon into the particulate filter (4) without passing through the oxide catalyst (3) so as to speed up the regeneration of the particulate filter.
