PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a porous vitrified grinding stone, by which its manufacturing cost is reduced and also bad influence upon the environment is suppressed. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a porous vitrified grinding stone using a pore forming agent having sublimation ability of sublimation start temperature of 100 to 200°C as a part or all of the pore forming agent includes a process for collecting the pore forming agent removed by sublimation from the forming material by heating the forming material which includes the pore forming agent having the sublimation ability.
