<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article managing system capable of recognizing existence of an article such as a commodity. <P>SOLUTION: Magnetic markers 10 built in the articles A comprise a magnetic wire causing rapid flux reversal when an alternating magnetic field is applied, and an on-off control element for generating a bias magnetic field capable of preventing the flux reversal. When the articles A are received by a store B, the on-off control elements are demagnetized to put the magnetic marker 10 into the on state. The flux reversals of the magnetic markers 10 are detected, thereby counting received articles in the store. The magnetic field is applied to the magnetic markers 10 when the charge of the articles A is paid, the number of sold articles is counted by detecting the flux reversals of the magnetic markers 10, and difference between it and the number of received articles is determined. The on-off control elements of the prepaid articles A are magnetized, thereby switching the magnetic markers 10 to the off state. When the flux reversals of the magnetic markers 10 are detected in passing the articles A through an outlet gate 40, the articles A are determined to be unadjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
