<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a breathing filter from being damaged and to provide a gas sensor for assuring the sealing and breathing properties in the gas sensor of a type for fixing the breathing filter to the sealing member via a cylindrical insertion member. <P>SOLUTION: In an oxygen sensor 1, the atmospheric side opening of the cylindrical insertion member 30 is fixed to the inside of a through hole 14 of a sealing member 11, thus arranging an opposing surface 41 at the atmosphere side of a breathing filter 40 inside the sealing member 11. As a result, high- pressure water and stepping-stones flying from the outside are shielded by the sealing member 11, thus effectively preventing the breathing filter 40 from being damaged, and hence retaining sealing and breathing properties such as waterproofness and oil-retaining properties and securing reliability in the oxygen sensor 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
