<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffuser which improves diffusion of light of an image illumination light source so as to improve the transmission efficiency as well as to diffuse a specular light source. <P>SOLUTION: The light diffuser comprises a thermoplastic resin layer incorporating organic bead-containing microvoids and having an integral smoothing layer on at least one surface thereof.
