PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a batch furnace slab arrangement method capable of achieving efficiency by automatization by a computer.SOLUTION: When a specific slab is regulated, among slabs heated by a batch furnace, slabs which can be heated by the batch furnace in combination with the specific slab are extracted as combination possible slabs, and after the specific slab is arranged and displayed on a predetermined position, among the combination possible slabs, a maximum slab having the largest occupancy area when being arranged on a furnace bottom, is selected, then the maximum slab is arranged and displayed in a furnace length direction in the order that having a larger occupancy area. After the maximum slab is arranged in the furnace length direction, the maximum slab having the second largest occupancy area is arranged and displayed on a predetermined position of a furnace width direction and furnace length direction, with respect to the slab which was arranged previously. When there are two or more predetermined positions to the slab which was arranged previously, an arrangement position of the maximum slab where a furnace bottom area of a square where the slab is not arranged becomes the largest, is selected. |
