<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost polarizing plate which attains an improved yield in a polarizing plate stamping step, which has an adhesive layer to stick the polarizing plate to a display device and on which few bright defects are generated in the lapse of time, a method for manufacturing the polarizing plate and further the display device using the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The long polarizing plate in which an absorption axis of a polarizing film is neither parallel nor vertical to a longitudinal direction (a), a surface of the polarizing film is coated with a protective film and an angle between the absorption axis of the polarizing film and a slow axis of the protective film is ≥10° and <90° (b), and which has various kinds of functional layers or a release film outside the protective film via an adhesive layer wherein initial adhesive force of the adhesive layer is ≥0.01 N/25 mm and <15 N/25 mm and adhesive force after aging is ≥1 N/25 mm and <50 N/25 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
