PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing artificial bait which uses a food raw material hardly damaging environments and organisms as the substitute of a rubber or plastic artificial bait, has soft and elastic physical properties entirely equal to those of rubber or plastic artificial baits, and sufficiently satisfies performances required on practical application, and to provide a method for producing the fishing artificial bait. SOLUTION: This fishing artificial bait is characterized by immersing a molded article comprising gelled curdlan in an immersion liquid containing propylene glycol and then taking out the molded article from the immersion liquid. The method for producing the fishing artificial bait comprises mixing water with curdlan, thermally gelling the obtained mixture, immersing the obtained molded article in an immersion liquid containing propylene glycol, and then taking out the treated molded article from the immersion liquid.
