PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyurethane foam excellent in moldability and flame retardancy. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyurethane foam by reacting a polyol, an organic polyisocyanate and a forming agent comprised of water in the presence of a urethane catalyst is characterized by further adding fine particles of a polyvalent metal hydroxide with≤10,000 nm average particle diameter and a partial ester of a 3-15C tri or higher hydric alcohol and a 10-30C fatty acid.
