<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate removal of paper failed in peeling, by enabling striper fingers for peeling paper from a fuser roll to come into contact with the fuser roll without damaging the roll. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet stripping unit provided on the fuser roll 10 of the fusing apparatus has a striper finger mount 32, and a spring 18 which presses the striper finger mount to the fuser roll 10 so as to butt against a stop 34. The sheet stripping unit also has the stripper finger 30 which is mounted on the stripper finger mount and comes into contact with the fuser roll by its own spring force when pressed so that it butts against the stop 34. The sheet stripping unit further has a baffle 40 which, when the stripper finger 30 is in contact with the fuser roll, defines the surface adjacent to the stripper finger along the length of the fuser roll. The baffle 40 aids the movement of the mount 32 in the direction in which sheet wrinkled between the fuser roll 10 and the mount 32 is separated from the fixing roll 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
