PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly disperse a swelling laminar silicate in a molecular level in an aromatic polyester. SOLUTION: This copolyester composite material consists of (1) an aromatic copolyester containing a diol component comprising a polyoxyalkylene glycol derivative such as a polyoxyethylene glycol methyl 1,2-dihydroxy propyl ether and (2) a swelling laminar silicate.
