<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device easy to manufacture and possible to materialize a thinner thickness. <P>SOLUTION: This surface light source device 30 is composed of a light source 40, a sheet laminated body 21 to convert light from the light source 40 to a surface light source by transmitting it, film members 31, 32 to hold the light source 40 and the sheet laminated body 21 from both faces by a sandwiching structure, and the like.
