<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact illuminating device which makes the most use of a semiconductor light source and has high output at low consumed power. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminating device 10 which controls semiconductor light- emitting elements 21R-21B of a semiconductor light source 20 so as to be usually turned off is provided to make control in synchronism with a light-modulating device 2. Since the light-modulating device 2 can be illuminated by light right after the semiconductor light-emitting elements 21R-21B are turned on when the light-modulating device 2 is turned on, the illuminating device 10 adopting the semiconductor light source 20 can be provided as an illuminating device which can provide effectively high-power light at low consumed power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
