<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting apparatus which is capable of accurately mounting even when a component profile overlaps partially with the through- hole of a diffuser where a nozzle penetrates. <P>SOLUTION: A mounting apparatus is composed of nozzles 9a to 9f which take out components 31 to transfer, a first diffuser 11 which is arranged on the opposite side of the tips 20 of the nozzles 9a to 9f and provided with through-holes 12a to 12f where the nozzles 9a to 9f penetrate, a second diffuser 24 which has an external shape larger than the through-holes 12a to 12f bored in the fires diffuser 11 and is mounted on the peripheral part of the nozzles 9a to 9f, a light source 18 irradiates the first diffuser 11 and the second diffuser 24 with light rays 19a, and an inspection unit 13 which inspects the component 31 held by the tips 20 of the nozzles 9a to 9f.
