PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous substance printing apparatus which can reduce waste of the viscous substance and fouling of a penetration plate and improve printing uniformity when a non-rectangular substrate is divided into a plurality of unit printing areas, and the viscous substance is printed by using the penetration plate. SOLUTION: The substrate P having a V-shaped notch in the end part is mounted on a printing stage part 20. A masking sheet 11 is stretched flatly between a feed roll 12 and a take-up roll 14. By a die cutting and creasing part 18 and a die cutting and creasing stage 19, mortises 11h having approximately the same shape with the substrate are formed in turn in the masking sheet. The masking sheet 11 is fed until the mortise 11h comes just above the substrate P. Next, the substrate P is fitted into the mortise 11h, and printing is done in turn by the penetration plate 201 fitted to a printing part 20. The discharge of the viscous substance (solder paste) in an area outside the substrate P is reduced by the existence of the masking sheet 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
