<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit and receive reproducible data for a special reproduction in a streaming transmission type without transmitting and receiving useless data. <P>SOLUTION: For a skip reproduction, a reproduction control information generator 25 provided in a client terminal 2 decides whether the position or the number of a multiplexed packet including a desired reproduction point, and an I-frame required for reproducing this desired point is contained in a receiving buffer of a multimedia information receiver 21. If these informations are decided to be contained in the buffer, no data are transferred from a server. This eliminates the need of again acquiring multimedia information stored in the buffer from the server, thereby suppressing the growth of an extra transmitted data quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
