<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cleaning accelerator adapted to a contact cleaning method for water using shells of a bivalve such as an oyster, a pearl oyster or the like or activated sludge or the like and accelerating the cleaning of water by bringing water into contact with microorganisms in a filter medium, a water cleaning method and system using the water cleaning accelerator. SOLUTION: An adherend containing microorganisms bonded to the surfaces of shells of at least one kind of the bivalve selected from the group consisting of the oyster and the pearl oyster is dried to bring microorganisms to a dormant state. The water cleaning accelerator contains a mixture of a powder of this dried adherend and an inorganic powder. Preferably, a nutrition source containing humic acid and/or fulvic acid, iron and/or an iron compound and marine algae is added. The water cleaning accelerator is preliminarily dispersed in water to be charged in a treatment tank and brought into contact with the filter medium and raw water such as sewage or the like is passed through the filter medium while brought into contact with the filter medium to clean water.</p> |
