<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time synchronization method, in which, among a plurality of number of terminals linked with each other over a network, when system such as GPS or a radio clock can not be used, time synchronization between a main station terminal and a receiving terminal is performed accurately in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: A packet 100 that stores synchronization time (transmission time at a main station terminal) and has a storage area of the number of hops (number of links through which a packet is routed) is sent from the main station terminal 10 to a predetermined receiving terminal 30 through a network, the number of hops is stored in the storage area of the number of hops with being increased one every time the packet is routed through the link in the network, a value of a predetermined fixed delay time multiplied with the number of hops in the receiving terminal 30 is determined to be the transmission delay time between the main station terminal 10 and the receiving terminal 30, and the time at the predetermined receiving terminal is determined from adding the transmission delay time to the synchronization time in the packet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
