The device has two stamping plates (6, 8) with patterned areas for forming respective patterns on a substrate (26). Two chambers (28, 30) contact the respective pattern areas with the faces of the substrate. The two plates are elastically bendable towards each other and are secured to each other at respective holding areas (10,12).
