FILTER APPARATUS FOR ELECTRIC RAILWAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter apparatus for an electric railway which is smaller and excellent in protection coordination.

SOLUTION: A DC substation for an electric railway comprises a cutoff device 15 which cuts the earth current of a feeder line. The filter apparatus for an electric railway comprises a filter shunt path 3 used for filtering a DC voltage waveform formed at a 12-phase rectifier 8. A current-limiter reactor 2 is provided to suppress a rush current into the cutoff device 15. The filter shunt path 3 comprises only one shunt path where a resonance capacitor 4 is connected to a resonance reactor 5 in series.
